
A 12 years old girl Rocio Crespillo has won the Melon de Oro of the International Festival of Cante Flamenco of Lo Ferro.

The enormous effort of the organizers of the International Festival of Cante de las Minas in La Unión for this 50th anniversary has been rewarded with the massive respone of the audience who were in such a special event.

The Spanish Royal House has communicated to the regional cultural ministry that they support the candidature of the flamenco so that it is included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO.

67 artists and professionals of the sector, like Esperanza Fernández, Manuel Pedraz, Andrés Marín or the Dr. José Luis Castilla, encourage the flamenco learning for all the levels and from a wide perspective with a series of courses, gatherings and workshops. Individuals of the city of Sevilla take the initiative and organize them with the support of the XVI Bienal.

The 16th Bienal de Flamenco in Sevilla, which will be celebrated from September the 15th to October the 9th, will offer about 150 parallel activities. These activities will continue until November.

Like every summer, they have announced the program of courses of the Festival de Jerez, which will be celebrated from February the 25th to March the 12th, 2011.
