
The 16th Bienal de Flamenco in Sevilla, which will be celebrated from September the 15th to October the 9th, will offer about 150 parallel activities. These activities will continue until November.
Apart from these activities, from September the 1st to mid-October, they have programmed shows and performances out of the official program of the Bienal. The artists who are in these shows and performances could have been in the official program, according to the director of the Bienal, Domingo González.
Also, there will be shows related to the Copla ( Spanish popular folk song ), like "Andalucía en la copla. Three generations of artists"; "Flamencos anónimos", which the Association of Flamenco Artists organizes; "Soñar con Triana", organized by the producer Juncal Flamenco and "Flamenco Racial" which Laura Román and her Cuadro Flamenco are in charge.
The section of learning and informative activities includes 19 courses or seminars about subjects like the studies about the flamenco of Demófilo, about the dance academy of Sevilla, scenic design for shows, peñas and image and identity of the genre, among the others.
For this Bienal, whose theme is "Flamenco de viva voz", they have programmed for the first time 5 courses or presentation of web about "Flamenco and new technologies", and 8 expositions of photos, posters, contemporary arts etc.
